Happy Grad Skylar Ridabock - Work It Daily

Happy Grad Skylar Ridabock - Work It Daily Age: 23 Graduation Date: 2013 Major: Graphic Design Digital Media School: Champlain College Current Position: Jr. Graphic Designer   Q: What was your biggest fear about leaving college and entering the “real world”? My biggest fear about entering the real world was not being able to find a career that allowed me to support myself. Q: What five words would you use to explain your job search as a recent grad? Enlightening, exciting, intriguing, stressful, challenging. Q: What is it about your situation now that makes you a happy grad? I am a happy grad because I feel my college education and experience prepared me well for the adult world. I have a career at a successful company in my desired field of study - what more could a new grad want!? Q: What are the best things about your current role? I enjoy working on a team of designers and collaborating on projects, having a variety in the type of work I do, and working at a company with all different types of people with different areas of expertise. Q: What advice would you give recent grads today about leaving college, and finding a career and life they love? I would advise recent grads to stay active in the field they want to pursue a career in no matter what (whether its through volunteer work, pro bono jobs, etc.). Staying active in their field will show future employers their dedication [and help them build] experience. I'd also advise recent grads to network as much as possible! They should take advantage of their college's alumni network - I found that to be extremely helpful. Q: What are some of the best things about being a recent grad? It's an exciting and important time of your life. It challenges you and helps you to mature and grow as an adult in the real world! Have you joined our career growth club?Join Us Today!
